Project summary

The existing BM22 module requires an update to account for the changing landscape in clinical practice.

This project aims to:

  • Update the current EORTC QLQ-BM22 to encompass QoL issues relevant to recent therapeutic interventions.
  • Identify any problematic items and/scales in the BM22.
  • Enhance cultural relevance of the BM22 through collaboration with countries not included in the original module development.

Achievements

The healthcare professional survey on bone metastasis QoL issues relevant to recent therapeutic interventions has been completed and under analysis.

Future plans

The patient survey will be conducted from April 2025.

For patients

The existing BM22 module requires an update to account for the changing landscape in clinical practice. Indeed, it has been over 11 years since the development of the module, and according to the EORTC QLG Module Development Guidelines, it is recommended that existing modules be reviewed and considered for an update if treatments have evolved during the last decade. We believe this is the case and that an updated module would be of clinical interest for this common disease entity.
