EORTC Quality of Life Group Education – Creation of a Curriculum on QoL in Oncology
Project summary
This project will produce a comprehensive educational programme on quality of life (QoL) which will consist of a core course plus additional specialised courses. The programme will address the educational needs of different target groups including researchers, healthcare professionals and patient representatives.
The educational programme will be agreed with the involvement and input of external stakeholders as well as the EORTC, including members of the Quality of Life Group and Disease Oriented Groups.
We will also explore the requirements for accreditation/certification of the educational programme at an international level.
Achievements
We have finished reviewing existing QoL educational programmes and surveyed stakeholders to find out about their ideas for our educational programme. We are continuing to finalise the curriculum and preparing educational materials. We have also explored accreditation procedures.
Future plans
- 1st half of 2026: finish specialised curricula, finish production of educational material, fully understand the EACCME accreditation process, finish sustainability plan, finish final report.

For patients
We are developing an educational programme to teach anyone with an interest in quality of life and cancer. The programme will consist of a core course for everybody and also some more advanced, specialised courses. Thus, the programme will cover everything that interested individuals need to know about this topic.
